It is my greatest pleasure and honor to welcome you all to the Rainwater Training and Research Center (RTRC) at the Royal Academy of Cambodia. This moment marks our commitment to collaboration, innovation, and cultural exchange to further the global impact of rainwater harvesting and sustainability. RTRC is the premier headquarters in the Mekong region, where art, culture, science, and technology converge. Our mission aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 6—ensuring clean water and sanitation for all while fostering climate resilience. Through our programs, we empower students, professionals, and communities to lead in sustainable water management and environmental stewardship. One highlight of our program is Rain Schools, which transforms educational institutions into living examples of sustainable rainwater harvesting. Our BiTS (Best-in-Teachers, Students) approach ensures practical and impactful rainwater conservation. Beyond academic engagements, we offer you the opportunity to experience Cambodia's rich heritage and breathtaking beauty, including the National Museum, Royal Palace, and Angkor Temple.
The vision of the Rainwater Training and Research Center (RTRC) is to empower communities through sustainable water management by establishing a network of Rain Schools. The long-term goal is to create 1,000 Rain Schools in Cambodia, setting a model for climate adaptation globally.
